You social network history is practically an autobiography. What you did, when you did it, where you were when you did it, etc. For many people around the globe, their social media account tells more about their life than they could possibly ever tell on their own.

Your history is valuable. In fact, even your social media network handle is of some value and has willing buyers for it internationally. Of course the price is determined by it’s popular value. When it comes to you social media account though, whether business, personal or otherwise – they all have an important reminiscent value to us. With the potential for so many past and present memories capable of being lost and forgotten, it’s a very timely for a social media giant such as Twitter to have finally released a method for our own storage and retrieval of this data. Twitter has come up with a way for you to now keep your own recorded Tweet archive.

With the new Tweeter feature “you’ll get all your Tweets (including Retweets) going back to the beginning. Once you have your Twitter archive, you can view your Tweets by month, or search your archive to find Tweets with certain words, phrases, hashtags or @usernames. You can even engage with your old Tweets just as you would with current ones.”

Although many more people use Facebook to record their memories, Twitter has a fair share of social media users. According to Twitter, “”There are now more than 200M monthly active @twitter users”. Although Facebook has somewhat of an astounding 1 billion active users, the 200 million mark does set Twitter above LinkedIn And Google + which have about 190 and 120 million users respectively.

Users of other social network, will soon have a similar alternative to retrieve their history archives as well though because the company SocialSafe is in the process of releasing a social media back-up tool that will enable users to back-up social media content from sites such as Facebook, Google+, Instagram, LinkedIn, as well as Twitter.
